1. How can I control my children Internet usage?

Hidetools Child Control provides you many ways to limit Internet usage. With Child Control you can allow your children to surf the web but prohibit chat or on the contrary to restrict access to their messenger programs and allows surfing. Also you can block porno content and adult web sites.

2 How can I block Myspace.com website?

Hidetools Child Control can easy block any website. To block MySpace.com go to Block Websites, click Add, in the appeased window and type 'myspace'. Click OK. 'Myspace' will appear in the list. 

3. Can Hidetools Child Control block Skype?

Hidetools Child Control
can block any chat and instant messenger .To block Skype go to Block Programs->Block Internet Applications and check Skype.

4. How do I block Internet Explorer totally?

Hidetools Child Control can block such web browsers as: Internet Explorer, Opera, Mozilla Firefox, etc. To block Internet Explorer go to Block Programs->Block Internet Applications and check Internet Explorer.

5. Can the program block websites in Mozilla Firefox?

Hidetools Child Control blocks prohibited websites in every web browser. (Firefox, Internet Explorer, Opera, Chrome, Safari, etc.)

6. Can I block some other web browser except IE, Mozilla Firefox, and Opera?

Hidetools Child Control allows you to block every web browser. To block it go to Block Programs, click Add and pick the needed web browser as program.

7. How do I block MSN Messenger?

To block MSN Messenger go to Block Programs->Block Internet Applications and check MSN Messenger.

8. How do I block an application (a game, for example)?

To block an application go Block Programs, click Add and pick needed program. To remove the program from the list select it and press the "Delete" button.

9. What programs on the computer can I limit access to?

You can limit access to absolutely any program. It doesn't matter what exe the program blocks. Hidetools Child Control can block absolutely any programs. But you should be careful with anti-virus programs.

10. My kids have Administrator rights. Can I still use Hidetools Child Control?

Yes, all Hidetools Child Control settings and limits can be applied even to users who have Administrator rights. The program can work with the hidden tray icon and password protection. So children can't open or uninstall Hidetools Child Control.

11. Will my kids know Hidetools Child Control is running on the computer?

Hidetools Child Control
can work in the invisible mode and your children can't determinate it. When the program is run the tray icon is shown in the system tray. Thus children can see when Hidetools Child Control is run. In order to Hidetools Child Control works invisibly check Hide Icon in the System Tray in Settings->General Settings.

12. Can my kids stop Hidetools Child Control?

No. Only a person who knows the password can start/stop, open and uninstall Hidetools Child Control. Also you can adjust Hidetools Child Control in the way your children will be unable to see that Hidetools Child Control is run. In order to Hidetools Child Control works invisibly check Hide Icon in the System Tray in Settings->General Setings.

13. Can I change the hotkeys?

Hidetools Child Control allows you to set the customizable hotkeys to start / stop and open the program. To change the hotkeys go to Settings->Advanced Settings->Hotkeys. Press your combination of the hotkeys. Click Apply to save the changes.

14. How do I set the new password for Hidetools Child Control?

The Hidetools Child Control access is protected by the password. To set the new password go to Settings-> Advanced Settings->Password Protection. Click on Change Password and in the appeared window input your password. Click Apply to save the changes.

15. Can a user to uninstall Hidetools Child Control free?

Hidetools Child Control is protected by the password. Only a user knowing the password can do it. For more safety we recommend to hide the tray icon of Hidetools Child Control. To hide the tray icon go to Settings->General Settings and mark Hide Icon in the System Tray. Click Apply to save the changes.


16. How do I uninstall Hidetools Child Control?

To remove Hidetools Child Control from your computer first of all you have to exit Hidetools Child Control. To exit the program right click on the tray icon of Hidetools Child Control and click Exit. Then enter your password and click OK. Run 'uninstall.exe' from the Hidetools Child Control folder (C:\Program Files\Hidetools Child Control by default) and follow the onscreen instructions step by step. You can also uninstall the software through the Windows Control Panel (Add/Remove Programs).

17. How do I hide the tray icon of Hidetools Child Control?

To hide the tray icon of Hidetools Child Control go to Settings->General Settings and check Hide Icon in the System Tray.

18. I forgot my password to access Hidetools Child Control. How can I get it back?
