1. Can a user recognize that he is under surveillance? I could not find the invisible mode option.

Hidetools Spy Monitor can work in the invisible mode and nobody can determinate it. Only the person knowing the special hotkey can access to the program.
Go here Options->General->Invisibility and mark Hide Hidetools Spy Monitor . This option hides Hidetools Spy Monitor from the Windows Program Menu, the Windows Control Panel (Add/Remove Programs). Also it hides the icon of Hidetools Spy Monitor. from desktop.

2. Can I receive the log report via email if the monitored PC is not online?

If you have checked "Send Logs via E-mail", Hidetools Spy Monitor waits and sends the log report as soon as the monitored PC is connected to the Internet.

3. I forgot the hotkey and can't open the log reports. How do I open Hidetools Spy Monitor?

There are few ways to open Hidetools Spy Monitor. First – press the hotkeys (Ctrl+1 by default). Second – open it from the installation folder (C:\Program Files\HSM by default).

4. I press the hotkeys several times. Hidetools Spy Monitor does not respond. I can't bring up the log screen. What can I do?

It can be if Hidetools Spy Monitor does not run. There are few ways it can be: you have deleted the "Autorun on Windows Startup" mark or you have exited the program.
You can open Hidetools Spy Monitor from the installation folder (C:\Program Files\HSM by default).
Then try the hotkeys again and verify you can bring Hidetools Spy Monitor up.

5. Can I change the hotkeys?

Hidetools Spy Monitor allows you to set the customizable hotkeys to open the program. To change the hotkeys go to Options->General. In the "Show the program" field press the hotkeys you want. Click Apply to save the changes.

6. I am afraid that somebody else can see the logs. Can I set the password for Hidetools Spy Monitor?

The Hidetools Spy Monitor access can be protected by the password. To set the password go to Options->General->Password Protection. Mark the "Enable Password" checkbox. Click the "Change Password" button and in the appeared window input your password. Click Apply to save the changes.

7. I forgot my password to access the Hidetools Spy Monitor reports. How can I get it back?

8. Can a user uninstall Hidetools Spy Monitor free? My children are more knowledgeable about the PC than I am.

Hidetools Spy Monitor runs as the background process, with no visible signs to the PC user. Only the user knowing the special hotkeys can open, start/stop monitoring and uninstall Hidetools Spy Monitor. For more safety we recommend to set the password. To set the password go to Options->General->Password Protection. Mark the "Enable Password" checkbox. Click the "Change Password" button and in the appeared window input your password. Click Apply to save the changes.

9. How do I uninstall Hidetools Spy Monitor?

To remove Hidetools Spy Monitor from your computer you should open the program main screen. Click on the appeared tray icon and choose Shutdown. Run uninstall.exe from the Hidetools Spy Monitor folder (C:\Program Files\HSM by default) and follow the onscreen instructions step by step.

10. How do I clean the log reports, including screen shots?

To delete recorded data go to the each log screen and click the "Clean Logs" button. Make it with the each log type.

11. Why does my antivirus software say that the Hidetools Spy Monitor installation file contains a Trojan program?

It happens because most antivirus programs consider commercial monitoring software as "potentially unwanted", "spyware" or "Trojan". If you see the spyware alerts when trying to install and use Hidetools Spy Monitor put it in the anti-spyware exclusion list of your antivirus software.

12. What should I do if my anti-virus and anti-spyware applications flag Hidetools Spy Monitor as suspicious threats?

Please configure your firewall or security programs to exclude Hidetools Spy Monitor from future scanning and deletion. Make sure you allow Hidetools Spy Monitor to access Internet.

13. Does your company read our computer activity logs? What about privacy?

No. All captured logs are saved in database file on your computer. Hidetools Spy Monitor won't send anything to us.

14. How do I increase the size of screenshots so it would be more suitable to view them?

To view a full screenshot double click on it or press the "View Full Size" button.

15. Should I inform my employees or others that they are being monitored?

Yes. Some countries may require this by law. Go to Options->General and check "Display Splash Warning on Startup". Hidetools Spy Monitor displays the warning window about the computer monitoring: "Hidetools Spy Monitor is currently monitoring this PC's activities and usage" when starts up.

16. Should I uninstall the trial version before installing the full version?

No, you should not. Just enter your license key and you will get the full version without any limitations.
